Entertainment Weekly has just revealed 5 exclusive character portraits for Insurgent featuring Tris, Four, Jeanine, Johanna and Evelyn.
EW also interviewed Shailene Woodley(Tris) and Theo James(Four).
Shailene Woodley told EW:
“She’s left with a lot of confusion as far as what the future holds. But she’s also left with a lot of guilt from the war, from losing her parents and from Will, so you see a newfound strength in her for revenge, as well as a lot of internal battles that she’s trying to weave her way around.”
Theo James also spoke of Insurgent:
“In this movie, I wanted it to be clear that obviously things have changed and he’s fallen in love with Shai’s character, but at the same time, he’s still the same man. So I don’t want him to suddenly be like Prince Charming or something. So when you first meet him, he is trying to protect her at the beginning of the movie, and calm her, and make sure she doesn’t make any mistakes. But at the same time, they’re fugitives in this faction that they shouldn’t be in, and he knows that they’ve got to move quickly. And then all hell breaks loose.”

Insurgent hits theaters March 20 in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D.
We are getting closer and closer to the release of the Divergent sequel Insurgent. Yahoo Movies has exclusively revealed a behind the scenes featurette featuring Tris’ transformation. The video also features interviews with Shailene Woodley(Tris), Theo James(Four), Octavia Spencer(Joahanna), Kate Winslet(Jeanine) and more.
Watch the transformation below:
Yahoo Movies also shared five moments that they thought were crucial in the featurette.
Tris, the World’s Best Building Jumper
Spider-Man. Batman. They have nothing on Tris. Instead of timidly falling off a tall structure, like she did during her Dauntless initiation inDivergent, now Tris is a building-hopping veteran, leaping like the pro parkour lady she has grown into.
Wobbly House on Fire!
Has Tris’s mom (Ashley Judd) come back from the dead?! Seeing as she died in Divergent, we’re left to assume this fiery house of horrors is all in Tris’s mind.
The Running Tris
Tris is in perpetual motion. Need proof? Here’s plenty of visual evidence of Tris on the move this GIF.
Cool Architecture
Turns out the peace-loving folks of Amity have good taste. Case in point: Their sleek community center features a living tree at its center.
That Mysterious Box
As with most book-to-movie adaptations, Insurgent condenses scenes and storylines to fit in its two-hour runtime. But no one’s quite sure aboutthe mystery box that first appeared in the film’s trailer and is not in the novel. “The box takes a lot of my favorite scenes from the book and puts them in the same place at the same time,” explains Divergent novel series author Veronica Roth in the featurette. We’ll just have to wait until the movie comes out to see what this secretive container is all about.
Does this make you more excited to see Insurgent?
Insurgent surges into theaters on March 20th.
We love them as ‘Tris’ and ‘Peter’ in ‘The Divergent Series’ but Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller are able to play every role they want. With their stunning performance together in 2013’s ‘The Spectacular Now’ and individual performances in this year’s ‘The Fault in Our Star’ (Woodley) and ‘Whiplash’ (Teller) they’ve showed their talent one more time.
That’s why the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) wanted to honor them with nominations on their EE Rising Star Award, which designs young stars to watch in the future.
“Shailene Woodley found breakthrough success for her performance opposite George Clooney in The Descendants, and was later cast as the leading heroine in Divergent. Woodley has received critical acclaim for her portrayal of Hazel in The Fault in our Stars. Woodley’s TV credits include The Secret Life of the American Teenager and recurring roles on Crossing Jordan and The O.C. Shailene will soon be starring in both Insurgent and Allegient, and will begin filming the lead female role in Snowden.”
“Miles Teller made his feature screen debut opposite Nicole Kidman in Rabbit Hole. Last year, Teller firmly established himself on the film scene with his roles inWhiplash and Divergent. Teller will play Mr. Fantastic in The Fantastic Four with Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell which will be released later this year. His previous film credits are diverse and include Footloose, Project X, 21 & Over, The Spectacular Now and That Awkward Moment in which he starred alongside Zac Efron.”

Yes, Initiates! We got another still of Tris, Four and Peter, this time in Amity! As everyone is carrying food, we guess they are in the cafeteria (trying the Amity bread?) with Four and Peter about to get into a fight.
The still was revealed yesterday by LA Times, with the following plot: “In the ruins of futuristic Chicago, rebels battle a power-hungry cabal.”
We’re more than excited for ‘Insurgent’! If you missed the latest still check it out here.
