Before we see Kate Winslet as Jeanine in the film adaptation of Divergent we can see her in Adele in Labor Day.
EW revealed the first look at Kate Winslet as Adele along with her costar Josh Brolin.
That’s the setup for the simmering drama Labor Day, starring Josh Brolin as an escaped convict who takes shelter with the mentally fragile, reclusive single-mom Adele (Kate Winslet) and her almost-teenage son (Changling’s Gattlin Griffith) over the course of one long late-summer holiday weekend in the mid-1980s.
If you’ve never heard of Labor Day out the synopsis:
“LABOR DAY” centers on 13-year-old Henry Wheeler, who struggles to be the man of his house and care for his reclusive mother Adele while confronting all the pangs of adolescence. On a back-to-school shopping trip, Henry and his mother encounter Frank Chambers, a man both intimidating and clearly in need of help, who convinces them to take him into their home and later is revealed to be an escaped convict. The events of this long Labor Day weekend will shape them for the rest of their lives.
Labor Day hits theaters for limited release on December 25th and worldwide Janiary 31st.
